First United Methodist Church supports mission projects to share the love of Christ with our community and our world.

Local missions include Habitat for Humanity and Helping Hands. Our church houses the local Habitat for Humanity office. Our church and church members have been involved with several habitat project homes in the community. Our church members also work with Helping Hands, a community wide agency dedicated to helping the needy.

First United Methodist Church has a Mother’s Morning Out program designed to give stay at home moms the opportunity to have a break from their kids on Tuesday and Thursday mornings each week to run errands, etc. The Mother’s Morning Out program is available to the community, but space is limited to 15 children. Contact the church office for details, 843-3414.

Our church supports ministry to students of Delta State University through the ongoing campus ministry of the Wesley Foundation, the United Methodist Student Center at Delta State.

In Mississippi, our church supports the Hispanic ministry, the United Methodist Children’s Home and the Baddour Center (for special needs adults) and Methodist Senior Services. In addition, we support summer camps for children and youth and various church conferences held each year.
